About Us

I have been breeding and showing collies since 1984.  Jim and I purchased our first collie, a rough tri colour female, in the spring of 1983.  I started training her in obedience and became very interested in showing her at obedience trials.  I showed her up to utility which she received 2 legs, but could never manage to get the third.  She was a great dog and we had lots of fun.  After going to trials we starting watching the conformation ring.  Jim thought it would be fun to start a dog that could compete in this venue so we started our search for that “perfect show dog”.  When we brought “Diamond” home, we knew that if he wasn’t perfect as a show dog he was certainly a perfect clown.  To prove that we were serious, he not only became Champion Bdgator Nationview Coalminer, but also Companion Dog as well.

Diamond gave us the bug for the conformation ring and we were hooked, since then we have trained more dogs in obedience, done temperament testing, pet therapy, and finished over 75 Canadian and American Champions and obedience titles.

Our debut in smooths came in 1985 when Nationview Collies asked us to help them by whelping a litter.  The litter was sired by Ch. Nationview Night Watchman out of Nationview My-T Courtesan.  We became very attached to a smooth sable bitch and she became Can/Am Champion Nationview Gemstone Puff CD, which we co-owned with Wendy and Wally Ace.  She was a great dog and helped us develop a great admiration for smooths .

At the present time we have about 50/50 roughs and smooths.  I am training in obedience and showing in conformation.  I have started judging at sweepstakes and matches and would like to someday apply for my judging license.
